Ice Cream Social

Social Sunday Hours: Free Ice Cream on April 25th from 5 to 7 p.m.

To kick up Sunday’s Social hours, we will have an ice cream cart at the esplanade at the corner of Greenbriar & Blue Bonnet Blvd, from 5-7 pm Sunday, April 25. Walk over with your family & pick up a sweet treat from the POA. This location has been selected to help with social distancing. Crowd control volunteers and hand sanitizer will be available. We ask that you please wear a mask when picking up your ice cream.

We hope everyone will get outside and reconnect with neighbors. Celebrate the season by strolling at a distance and waving, greeting neighbors from afar, and otherwise showing distant solidarity during the cool of evening in our beautiful neighborhood!

Join us for Social Hours on the last Sunday of each month, 5:00 — 7:00 p.m., until further notice.

OBPOA Members Meeting: 6 p.m. on May 13, 2021
Featuring Guest Speaker Dr. Peter Hotez, MD

We are thrilled to announce that that noted virologist Peter Hotez, MD, PhD, FATMH, FAAP, has agreed to be our guest speaker at the association’s Spring Members Meeting at 6:00 pm on Tuesday, May 13th.  Dr. Hotez was kind enough, despite his extremely busy schedule, to accept our invitation to speak at the meeting, which traditionally features a speaker on a topic of interest to neighbors. Because he was only available on May 13th at 6 p.m. the meeting date has changed. Dr. Hotez will present a topic related to the COVID19 pandemic, followed by a Q&A session. We will share the title of his presentation as soon as we receive it.

Meeting documents can be viewed/downloaded here.

The membership meeting will be held via Zoom.  Click the link to register in advance for the meeting:  https://zoom.us/meeting/register/tJYkf-2tqDIjGtJzkvc3fuEhBBFS9WVUS2jj   After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting.

Dr. Hotez is Professor of Pediatrics and Molecular Virology and Dean of the National School of Tropical Medicine at Baylor College of Medicine. He is also Co-Director of the Texas Children’s Center for Vaccine Development leading to the development of vaccines for parasitic infections, SARS and COVID19.  He has authored more than 500 scientific papers. He is an elected member of the National Academy of Medicine and the American Academy of Arts & Sciences, a leading science communicator and global health and vaccine advocate.  He appears frequently on CNN, MSNBC and Fox News.

All neighbors are invited to attend!
