You’re invited to Old Braeswood’s Spring POA meeting on Tuesday, April 26th at 7:00 pm at 7319 Greenbriar.  The location gives us an opportunity to see an original Section 1 house newly remodeled for its new owners, Adam Miller and Dr. Michelina Cairo. They have graciously opened their home to us for this meeting. Join your neighbors.  Our special guest will be Council Member Ellen Cohen who will give us an update on city affairs and projects in our area.  Ms. Cohen is an advocate for our neighborhood to whom we owe a debt of gratitude for her tireless efforts.

Candlelight House Tour
Nov 18 @ 5:30 pm – 8:30 pm

The Candlelight House Tour in Old Braeswood on Friday, November 18, 2016 from 5:30 – 8:30 PM will be a last hurrah for PastForward 2016, the annual National Trust for Historic Preservation conference. A mix of eight traditional and modern Old Braeswood houses built in the 1920s through the 1950s will be open for tour participants to explore at their own pace.

Homes on the tour include the Braeswood Corporation House (Hobby House), 1929, Harry D. Payne; the Hardison House, 1929, Carl A. Mulvey; the Harry Gordon House, 1955, Bolton and Barnstone; and the Allen House, 1936, L.M. Wirtz and Harold Calhoun.

An on-going lively reception will be held at the beautifully restored Allen House, the neighborhood’s first modern house. Tour participants are encouraged to plan their own route and be mindful of time – there will be much to see and do in three hours! (Please note, tickets are limited to two per person; no walk-up admissions will be accommodated.)
