Candlelight House Tour
Nov 18 @ 5:30 pm – 8:30 pm

The Candlelight House Tour in Old Braeswood on Friday, November 18, 2016 from 5:30 – 8:30 PM will be a last hurrah for PastForward 2016, the annual National Trust for Historic Preservation conference. A mix of eight traditional and modern Old Braeswood houses built in the 1920s through the 1950s will be open for tour participants to explore at their own pace.

Homes on the tour include the Braeswood Corporation House (Hobby House), 1929, Harry D. Payne; the Hardison House, 1929, Carl A. Mulvey; the Harry Gordon House, 1955, Bolton and Barnstone; and the Allen House, 1936, L.M. Wirtz and Harold Calhoun.

An on-going lively reception will be held at the beautifully restored Allen House, the neighborhood’s first modern house. Tour participants are encouraged to plan their own route and be mindful of time – there will be much to see and do in three hours! (Please note, tickets are limited to two per person; no walk-up admissions will be accommodated.)

Old Braeswood POA invites you to Night Out
Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2018 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Old Braeswood Park (Maroneal @ Morningside)

All neighbors are invited to attend this great social event.  “Night Out” is the annual event when neighbors stand together to promote awareness, safety and unity against crime. This is a great opportunity to get to know your neighbors, meet our law enforcement and Patrol officers, and reconfirm our commitment to a safer Old Braeswood.  Come enjoy a refreshing ice cream treat.

Meet in the Park beginning at 6 p.m.  Then return to your block at 8 p.m. to celebrate with your immediate neighbors. Please let us know if you plan to organize a post-park gathering on your block. We will send a list of gatherings via email closer to the date.

Helpers are needed for the Night Out event at the park. Please contact Krista at krista_rust@yahoo.com if you can help with set up or take down after the event. Sponsors are also needed. Cost to sponsor the event is $100 minimum. Donations of any size are appreciated.

Special thanks to Dawn Gervais with Martha Turner Sotheby’s for sponsoring this event for over a decade!
